Grass Temperature – Annual Average
The grass minimum temperature is the temperature recorded in open air ground on short turf, with the base of the thermometer just in contact with the tips of the grass. It can also be described as the temperature at 5cm above ground.

The grass minimum temperature ranges between -0.8 ºC and 8 ºC. The lowest values are at the peaks of the North York Moors. The highest values are along the coastal fringe and in dense urban areas.
