Days of Thunder – Annual Average
The annual average of the number of days that thunder is heard divides the Yorkshire and Humber region. Surrounding the Humber estuary and along the southern section of the coastal fringe, thunder rolls for between 11 and 13 days. The centre and north of the region typically presently have between 8 and 10 days of thunder.
