Snow

Projections of future snowfall show major changes across the region.
Key findings are:

  • Annual average snowfall days will reduce by 54 to 68%
down
   
  • Annual average snow depth (measured as water depth equivalent) will reduce by 51 to 67%
down
   
  • Almost no snow will fall in spring, summer and autumn, except for in the Yorkshire Dales and, to a lesser extent, the North York Moors, but even in these locations there will be a big reduction in snowfall

Projections of future frost also show major changes across the region. 
Key findings are:

  • Additionally, the number of days when frost occurs will reduce by between 35 to 49%.
