Winter Average Percentage Change in Snow
All sub-regions in Yorkshire and Humber experience a large decrease in the amount of winter snowfall. The average decrease for the region calculates at 49%. The greatest decrease in snowfall over the region runs north-south at the east of the region with a 53% decrease. This area includes the North Yorkshire Moors and the Humber. The centre of the region with a 50% decrease in snowfall covers part of North, West and South Yorkshire, specifically the urban areas of Leeds/Bradford, York and Sheffield. Both the north-west of the region; Yorkshire Dales, and the far eastern Humber coastal zone experience a 44% decrease in snowfall.
