Annual Average Wind Speed (m/s)
The annual average wind speeds are highest in areas 3 and 4, the area just south of the North Yorkshire Moors and Scarborough respectively. Annual wind speeds of 5.2 m/s are recorded here, with the North Yorkshire Moors showing the largest relative change with a reduction of -1.3%. The lowest annual wind speeds, 4.1m/s, are in Leeds and Sheffield with Leeds also exhibiting the lowest relative change with a decrease of -0.7%. The relative change overall is a fall of -1%.
