Spring Change in Wind    
   
Spring Average Percentage Change in Wind
All sub-regions experience an increase in wind speed through the spring. The greatest increase is experienced in the eastern half of the region at around 1.5%. This varies from the west of the region with increases of just below 1%.
     
Summer Change in Wind    
     

Summer Average Percentage Change in Wind
All sub-regions experience a reduction in summer average wind speed. The decrease reduces with inland movement. The coastal zone of the Humber has the greatest decrease at 2.5%. With a gradual western decrease in the change in average wind speed, the far west of Yorkshire, changes by approximately 0.3%.

     
Autumn Change in Wind    
     
Autumn Average Percentage Change in Wind
The whole area experiences a decrease in average wind speed during the autumn. The coastal zones show the greatest reduction at around 2%. The reduction becomes less significant moving inland westwards. The furthest inland in the Yorkshire Dales experience the smaller reduction of around 1%.
     
Winter Change in Wind    
     
Winter Average Percentage Change in Wind
All areas show an increase in the average winter wind speed. The greatest increase is on the coast of the Humber at around 2.5%. There is little variation over the region. The lowest change in wind speed is on the North Yorkshire Moors measuring at 2%. The increase is more pronounced with southerly movement through the region.
